healthy living tips for bipolar disorder

The CrossFit Games 2021 are on the horizon, and many of the participants are incredibly excited. Apart from the usual men's and ladies' competitions, there will be some women's events. We're all familiar with the Reebok's equipment, the Pegboard contest, and the Cutting system. But what do we know about the womens' competition? Keep reading to find the answer! CrossFit News Page: Keep an eye out for news updates regarding the competition

Women's competition

The women's competition at the 2021 Crossfit Games began this morning with the swim event. Jonne and Tia Claire Toomey-Orr won the first competition. Koski was the overall champion after she maintained her lead throughout. Tall and Eramo O'Connell finished second and third, respectively. It was the first Games women's event and the women hoped to complete it.

The women's contest is filled with high-level athletes. The field features nine athletes, including a 19 year-old Australian powerhouse who won this competition last year. Kara Saunders from Australia, who placed second in Australia and 11th globally in 2020 are other contenders. Andrea Nisler was also a rising star. In 2018, she competed in team division and came in third in the United States. She finished fifteenth in 2020. These athletes will be joined by Sara Sigmundsdottir from Iceland, who was awarded the first place medal at the World Crossfit Games earlier in the year.

Pegboard contest

The Pegboard contest at the Crossfit Games 2021 was a first. The Games added it to their summer Olympic program, along with double-unders (dumbbell overhead squats) and pegboard. Toomey-Orr set the record for most wins in a single Games event with 30. Sager won Event 11 for the men and took home his third Games victory. While there were many tie-breakers, ToomeyOrr's dominance was enough to win the contest.

healthy workouts

CrossFit Games athletes train by focusing on ten core physical skills: strength, flexibility and speed. Competitors are tested on their grip strength and coordination in the Pegboard contest. Two wooden pegs are held between the hands of each competitor to gauge their grip strength. The competition was fierce, and the athletes were left feeling a sense of accomplishment after completing the Pegboard.

Cutting system

CrossFit Games has a new cutting system for individual competition. Although it's not as drastic as previous Games, it is still quite different from this year. The competition consists of 15 individual events, so a first cut to 30 athletes is likely after the seventh or eighth event. Another question remains: how will CrossFit adjust the points spread following cuts? The scoring table used in the 2019 games was nearly identical to the one used in 2021, so it's likely that this will continue to be the case.

The CrossFit Games' largest ever field, consisting of 236 athletes this year, is the largest ever. Major cuts are made at the six initial events. The field is reduced to 75 athletes. The top thirty athletes then compete in a sprint team to determine the top 10. The top 20 athletes will then compete in the six remaining events. Castro's system was criticized by veterans Games participants who felt the cuts were too large.

Reebok's equipment

Reebok announced new CrossFit Games footwear, clothing and other equipment. Nano X1 will be the new shoes. They're made to fit multiple fitness needs. Reebok has billed this shoe as "the shoe of fitness," but it actually feels more like a traditional training shoe. DuPont's Kevlar upper promotes breathability while ensuring durability. The shoes' responsiveness is enhanced thanks to the RopePro tech and the firm midsole.

Reebok's contract with CrossFit will end at the end of 2020, and the Games will be without a title sponsor. Reebok sponsored the Games for more a decade. Now, it is obvious that the company will lessen its involvement. The company won't fund the Games' prize purse, but will continue to make all of the athletic apparel and equipment worn by athletes, including the new Reebok gear. The company will no more refer to itself by the name "Reebok Fitness Games", as it does right now.
